Please bare with us while we get caught up in the adventure. Adult stuff keeps getting in the way. I will probably be adding new stuff as I learn how this blogging thing works.
I forgot to mention in our first blog, right after we retired, we drove up to Rapid City, SD to become South Dakota residents. At that point we got our new driver licenses, but didn't register our vehicles yet. (While we were getting our License, I must have seen a squirrel because after we left, I noticed my address wasn't correct. I guess I will fix that when I get back to SD.) We decided to wait to register the vehicles until we received the paperwork for the 5th wheel.
So to continue on with the story, as I mentioned, we moved into the motorhome. This was around March 7th 2018. Now we needed a place to park it. After calling several different state parks in the Denver area, we found out they were booked. We wanted to stay somewhat close because we haven't cleared out the house we just sold, so we ended up going to the KOA at Strasburg, CO. It's about 30 or so miles away. As soon as we got there, we got a call from the RV Dealer stating our RV was in and we can pick it up on the next Saturday. On that day, we moved everything from the motorhome to the 5th wheel (2018 Grand Design Solitude 310GK)...that took 2 hours of fun...not really, it wasn't that much fun. We did a little test drive with the RV to make sure the brakes were set correctly, or at least close to correctly. After that we drove off the lot and didn't look back.
A week or so before getting the trailer, our camera's on the mirror's of the truck stopped working, which I guess is par for the course. I took the truck to John Elway Chevrolet to get them fixed and they said the left camera was broke but they were going to replace both cameras. They had to order them. More on this later in another story. But now the only camera working on the truck is the tailgate camera and the one pointing into the bed of the truck.
We spent the next several days working on clearing out the house. We eventually got to a point where we could call 1-800-GotJunk to get everything else out of the house. Two truck loads later, the house was empty and now we can live the dream...except we still have a bunch of stuff in storage that has to get back into the RV. We made several trips to the storage unit grabbing boxes and then finding out where to put things.
On the next Wednesday (14th of March) after getting our RV, it was time to move. Earlier in the week we made reservations to stay at the RiverView Campground in Loveland for two weeks. We weren't ready to leave Colorado yet (well, I was but couldn't because of adult stuff still needing to be done.), still had more boxes to unload and I needed to find a Doctor so I could get my pills refilled. (When we retired we had to get a new medical plan and new doctors.)
While we were at Riverview Campground, we had some nice visits from our friends Don and Diana, and Ben and Sheryl (on different nights).

During the time we spent at the KOA and Riverview, the weather kept reminding us that winter wasn't over. We had everything from 15 degree temps to rain and some snow. The 5th wheel kept us warm through the whole thing...YEAH!
Our next plan was to get a UHaul trailer and take the stuff (most of our furniture) to our son Justin in SD, but we would have to make at least two trips and it was cold. Instead we loaded up our dining room table into the trailer and headed south to Albuquerque, NM to see my relatives and give the table to my sister. So off we go!.
I did want to talk about the campgrounds that we stayed at. Kinda like a mini review of what I liked and didn't like if you will. The pictures are out the front living area of the 5th wheel. I will do this for every campground. Looks can be deceiving though.
The Reviews for the campgrounds can be found on the "Camping Reviews" page.
This is where we will end this chapter. Going forward, next chapters should be one per campground, unless we were just passing through or something like that.
