RiverView RV Campground, Loveland Colorado: This campground is located at the edge of the foothills, and is wooded nicely (but not over done). This place has a lot of long term campers and when we were there, there was a lot of people using it as a place while they worked locally. A lot of them didn't know how to turn off the porch light at night either I guess. This didn't affect us, because when we close our shades, we get no light from the outside. The campground has a nice fenced in dog run, bigger than the KOA above, but still not big enough for us to throw the ball for the dog. The campground has a nice playground for the kids, but I don't think there is a pool or hot tub. The park is right next to the Big Thompson River and there are back in sites that back up to the river. They do have a problem with a sewage smell in a field next to camp sites in the back of the campground. You are good as long as you are not down wind from that spot. What is bad is they have had this problem for years and I don't know why they don't fix it. The spots are ok in size on some, some are smaller though. Unlike other parks, in the pull through sites, the RVs face each other and somewhat share the space between the RVs. this is great if you are camping with other people. You can also get fresh eggs here (they have a chicken coop on site). With all said, we do like this park. It's close to Estes Park, Co (if the road is open).
Here is the Pro's and Con's for this site in a nutshell:
Pro's:
- Right next to the Big Thompson River
- Nicely wooded
- Fenced in Dog park
- Quiet
- Fire Rings and they sell firewood too.
Con's
- Sewage smell if you are in the wrong spot.
- Don't think there is a pool or hot tub (will need to check with them for verification)
- Some sites are narrow.
