Welcome to Yuma! Did you know that Yuma is the lettuce capital of the world? Who knew. Anyway, we decided to stay at the Yuma Lake RV Resort. This is a coast-coast resort, which means we only have to pay $10 a day to stay there. The drawback is this park only has 30 Amp service. They also have some stupid rules like, you cannot use your own washer and dryer. They say it can fill up their septic tanks. I say they need to fix their septic tanks then. The park itself isn't bad, it's right next to a pond and they have a nice swimming pool and hot tub. We were parked by the dog park which wasn't a bad size park. The bad thing about our spot was we were near a small farm. That's right, at 0500 every morning the rooster made sure we were up. Don't want to burn any daylight, do we. Of course once we were up, the rooster went back to bed happy.
While we were in Yuma, we checked out the Yuma Territorial Prison Historical site. That was pretty cool, you could even check out the jail cells. I don't have much to say about it. It is a prison after all. Anyway, here are the pics of that.
We did manage to get some pictures of the park. Here are those pics.
Like I said, we were just chilling here. But we did meet up with Tim and Layne. We were stationed together at most if not all of my duty stations. That was a good visit.
We were only allowed to stay in the park for 2 weeks so we moved around the corner to another small RV park. They had 50 Amp. So we stayed there for a week and did laundry and got ready for our next adventure, Quartzsite AZ for a Grand Design Rally.
This is a rap for 2018. It's been a good beginning year of retirement. We learned a lot, and forgot even more. I wonder what next year will bring. Lets find out together and with that, we will see you in Quartzsite at the Rally.
