Whispering Pines Campground, Holmen WI - 2018

Whispering Pines Campground, Holmen WI
(8 - 11 Jun)

We picked this campground because it was close to our friends home.  We didn't know how big it was until we arrived.  The campground had all the bells and whistles.  Let see, it had a swimming pond with sand all around it, mini golf, a cafe/grill, store of course and security with a gate that opens and closes.  We had to get a special card that opened up the gate after 10:30 at night (otherwise we wouldn't be able to get in).

The lots were a very good size with cement pads for your chairs and stuff.  We have been noticing that you can pretty much leave your awning out all the time.  The wind isn't very strong and if it does get strong, it's in the tree tops and not at our level.

Our spot was by the pond (which is fenced off all the way around...probably a safety thing).  It too was a quiet spot, and like the previous campground, people pay for there spots for the whole summer and leave there RV in that spot.  some even had decks off the side of them.  It seemed that most had a golf cart even though you didn't need one for mini golf.  You had to be careful walking so you didn't get run over by one.

Would we go there again?  If we had too.  It has all the bells and whistles like I said but, we don't use them usually,  great for families though. We like smaller places.  they are usually quieter and way less traffic on them.   I don't think we took any pictures of the place.  I guess I will have to be more active on that.   Oh and a dog attacked our dog while we stayed there.  Not the parks fault, we just have a dog that if he went to school, he would get beat up every day.  Anyway, here is our pros and cons.

Pros:

  • Secure
  • level sites
  • Wifi
  • Large place
  • Lots of activities going on

Cons:

  • Large place
  • Lots of activities going on
