Were here at the
Palisade Basecamp RV Resort in Palisade CO. We are going to hang here from 8-12 Aug 2019. Then on to the
Grand Junction KOA Holiday campground in Grand Junction from 12 - 15 Aug 2019. But for now, it's party time at the Rally. Grand Design owners host rallies all around the country. This is our 3rd GD Rally so far. So what do they do at a rally you ask? Each rally is different, but the same. They have vendors that come and explain their products, then there are raffles and food is supplied for some of the meals and some even have entertainment. Another cool thing is they have GD Techs come to the rallies to repair anything that will keep you from camping. They won't repair trim issues, and other minor stuff, but they will help out anyway they can if time permits and it's all free including the parts. During one of the raffles, we even won a $50 gift card.
The park itself was a nice park, right next to the Colorado river. it was also close to the highway, but relatively quiet for highway noise. The spots were good size too. With a pool and nice walking paths by the river, it was a nice park. Of course you can't say it's a good park without a great sunset.

I don't remember if I mentioned this or not, but our microwave was acting up in Colorado earlier this year. It would blow a fuse every time you opened the door. So we worked around that until eventually, it finally died. When it started acting up, we called GD and asked if there was anyway they could send a microwave to the rally here in Colorado since we were full timing and all, and they said they would send the request to scheduling to see if that can be done. When the microwave started acting up, we were out of warranty at that time. We didn't hear anything back and didn't know if it was going to get approved or not. Then the microwave died. When it did, we had about a month before the rally so the question was should we replace it or wait and see. We decided to wait and see and sure enough, when we got to the rally, the microwave was waiting for us and the techs installed it too.
We did have time after the rally to wander over to a winery for some tastings of Lemon Wine (Say that 3 time fast). That's right, wine made out of lemons. Must be a joke somewhere in that. Anyway, I guess the wine was good, and they also had some hard cider that we also picked up.
After all of that, off to the Grand Junction KOA to waste a little more time and do some exploring too. And we also had to get Scout in for his annual shots Again, only a 20 minute or so drive to the campground. While here we took a drive around the neighborhood, The Grand Mesa Scenic Byway. What a great drive.
Here are some pictures of that.
Well that's it for Colorado, we are off to Washington for our cruise in Sept. See ya on the road.
