Pahrump NV - 2019

After Vegas, we decided to head to Pahrump NV and stay at the Preferred RV Resort for about a week (1 - 8 Feb).  The campground wasn't bad and was also gated.  They also had several dog parks for the puppy.  We were also just across the street from a casino so we could go there, get drunk and poor and stumble back to our trailer.  Not saying we did that, but we could if we liked.  So we did check it out.  Geez!  Happy now?.   Anyway,  the park also accepted mail and packages.  So we were able to get our mail and some Amazon stuff.

While here, we checked out a museum about Pahrump.  It was called "Pahrump Valley Museum" and was free so we didn't have anything to lose.  It wasn't a bad little museum either.  Check it out if you're in town.

Since we were in the area, we headed to Death Valley National Park.  We saw a place to boondock on the way, but it's in California and I haven't read up on what you need to do to camp in that state.  Anyway, it was a nice drive.

We stopped at several places along the way, but one place was the salt flats themselves, at Badwater Basin.  It  was a little walk out to the flats, but when you get there, bend over and look at the salt on the ground.  It looks like little cotton (if you get really close).  Kinda cool if you ask me.  We went on several different hikes to include an arch in the park before heading back home.  Here are the pics of that adventure. (You can also click on the picture.)

Since they only let us stay for 1 week here (don't know why, we should have been allowed to stay two weeks) we headed over to Pair-A-Dice Co-op Rv Park on the other side of town.

So after the long drive of 5 miles, we arrived at the Pair-A-Dice Co-Op RV Park.  We plan on staying here for another week (8 - 15 Feb).  This is also an Escapee's park.  Again, since this is our first time here, it only cost us $50 for the week.  Of course if we stayed two weeks, then the second week would have been like $125 or something like that.  Anyway, this was just like the other Escapee parks we stayed at.  People do the long term leases for the spots, and when they aren't there, they can have them rented out for people like us to come and stay.  This was the first park we stayed at that had a do-it-yourself Oil change bay.  It also had a large dog park too.

While here, we took a drive to Shoshone Village in California.  We checked out a Museum and Dublin Gulch while in town and had some chow at a restaurant next door to the museum.  Dublin Gulch was some cave dwellings for Miners of all things.  It was kinda unique, but they didn't clean up there can trash.  The Museum wasn't bad, but we have seen most things that it had.  The restaurant was good too.

Well that was about it for here.  We are heading to a location just south of Overton NV for some boondocking.  Lets go check it out together.
