Overton NV - 2019

We arrived at our boondocking campsite about 3 miles south of Overton NV in a place called Poverty Flats Camping.  We are planning on hanging here for for a few day (15-19 Feb) until we make our trek north to Jackson WY and back.  We saw this place on Campendium Website and also on Allstays Website.  So we decided to check it out.

We thought it was in a valley, at least that is what it looked like on google, but it was on top of a ridge.  There are a lot of spots to camp at where we are, but there is more just south about quarter of a mile away.  The ground is hard and pebble like rocks, similar to Quartzsite area.  The views are nice though.  Like most places we stayed at, I rained on us here too.  If fact, the road you take to get here, had water running over it...with sand of course.

While we were hanging loose, we decided to check out the Valley of Fire State Park, since it was just down the road.  Here we took a couple of hikes to see some Petroglyphs and an arch.  It was fun.  Here are the pics for the state park and our camping area (you can click on the picture too).

Now for the real fun, we are heading to Jackson WY to see our son and go skiing for his birthday.  Come join the adventure, I'm sure you will regret it, like I did. (The trip, not seeing Michael).
