Olathe CO - 2019

Here we are at the Uncompahgre River RV Park in Olathe CO.  We stayed here from 4 - 8 Aug 2019.   This was a nice 50 and over park.  It was a quiet park too!  No, I wasn't talking about the people, but the environmental noise.  So why are we here and what did we do, you ask?  Well, let me tell you.

We are going to a Grand Design rally in Palisade Co and we wanted to be at a close location so we can get there and start having fun.  Either that or because we couldn't stay at the last location any longer (two weeks max) and had to stay somewhere else.  While we were here we took a little stroll down to Silverton and Ouray for a day trip, and we needed to get our Roof fixed.

So let's start with the roof.  I had an RV Armour Roof put on so we didn't have any leaks in the future since I have a lot of holes in my roof from solar panel mounts.  This system was a paint on rubber roof, so it seals all around the mounts so moisture can't get in.   I noticed last month that the sides were separating, so I called them up and they came out while we were here at this park and did the repairs.  The roof has a lifetime warranty from not leaking, and they have techs all around the country to do the roofs.  Basically, they come to you and not the other way around.

There was a winery just up the road that Terry wanted to visit and also a farm that made cheese and eggs...ok, you got me, they collected the eggs.  Anyway we checked out both places and picked up some cheese and eggs and some wine for Terry.

At this point in our travels, we decided to try out a Harvest Host membership.  Harvest host allows you to stay overnight at various farms, vineyards, museums and stuff like that.  More on this in the near future.

After all of this, we still had some time for a side trip to Silverton.  As usual, it was a beautiful drive, we got some food and some great pictures.   I remember driving that road with my motorhome and not to say it was scary or anything, but my tires were just on the edge of the road/cliff.  Since then, they have widened the road so it's no  longer white line then drop off.  Now it's white line, a foot or so, then drop off.  Of course that didn't stop people from driving down the middle of the road.  Anyway here's the pictures we took on that trip.

Well, we are off to Palisade for the Grand Design Owners Rally.  See ya there in about 30 minutes.
