Lapeer MI - 2019

Well we made it to Lapeer Mi to visit with family.  We snuggled the trailer into their driveway.  We will be here from 23 May - 5 June 2019.  While here, we were able to get about 327 pounds of dog hair from the truck. I think our gas mileage went up by 10 MPG after that...or maybe I just wasn't pulling the trailer at that time.
Bob, Terry's brother, bought a camping trailer just before we showed up and was going to pick it up while we were visiting.  His dad even gave him his pickup so he would have a tow vehicle.  Funny story there, his dad ordered the pickup for Bob, but decided to keep it for himself.  But after a few years (15+) he finally gave it to Bob.  When Bob went to get the trailer, the truck died after about 2 miles or so.  The RV dealership came and took the trailer back to the dealership while Bob had his truck towed to a repair shop.  That's when we came into the picture.  We went and picked up the trailer with my truck and brought it back to Bob's house.  I tell you that there is no comparison between towing a 5th wheel and a bumper pull trailer.  That trailer tried to shake the hell out of my truck with all its swaying.  But we made it without issue.
After visiting with Bob and his family, and with Terry's cousins, Laura and Tom, it was time to move on.  (not without Terry getting some more chocolate wine from Frankenmuth MI though).
Our first stop was the Water Tower Campground in Lapeer.  We stayed a night so we could dump and fill up with water.  Our next stop (Allegan Fair Grounds in Allegan MI) will be dry camping too...well kinda.  We're going to our first "Family Motor Coach Association" (FMCA) rally.  See you there.
