Colorado Heights Camping Resort, Monument CO - 2018

Colorado Heights Camping Resort, Monument CO - 2018
Colorado Heights is a Coast-to-Coast campground.  I also think they are part of another camp membership like RPI (I think that is what it's called).  The campground is heavily wooded.  In fact, you have to be really careful not to hit one going to your spot.  Some of the spots are level some not so much.  They do have a fishing pond that you pay to fish in.  Two fish per day, but you get to keep and eat them.  During the summer, they do have lots of activities and have a pool and hot tub.  They also had Wifi.  I would say the worst part of it was the traffic noise (they are right next to I-25) and how close the trees are to the interior roads.  Cutting down a few trees wouldn't hurt.  The last time we were there (about 10 years or so), we could hear the cows in the field behind the park.  This time we heard people talking and builders building.  Nothin but houses now.

Below is my Pro's and Con's:

Pro's:

  • It was free for us to stay (we are members).
  • Fishing pond
  • Pool and Hot tub
  • Lots of activities in the Summer
  • Mini Golf (well sort of.  Needs some work)

Con's:

  • Heavily wooded especially along the road
  • Expensive if you are not a member ($60+) for a spot.
  • Some spots are hard to get in and a lot are not that level.
  • Traffic Noise
  • Residential Noise
