The cactus flowers started to pop out this month. Not a lot of flowers, but flowers none the less.
It was nice one night (OK so it was nice a lot of nights, but we liked this one.) so we sat out to admire the full moon one night. We also took some nice pictures too. You can see them here.
We also took a drive to Parker Canyon Lake which was about 2 hours south west of Benson. The lake was nice and you could rent out paddle boats if you like. We didn't think the marina was going to be open, but it was. Per a sign we saw, the lake had both trout and bass in it, but you couldn't eat the bass. I guess they had way too much mercury in them. You could eat the trout though. We didn't do any fishing, just wanted to check it out for future adventures.
One day Michael texted us to say he had some news. And then there was crickets. Eventually, he came back and said his girlfriend and him........just got a new puppy. Yeah, we thought that too. Anyway, it's a Bernese Mountain dog and Border Collie mix. Cute puppy, but I bet it will get big.
We bought a new hummingbird feeder. We had another one that would hang from a suction cup hook on the side of the RV, but when the wind picked up, it would spill all down the side of the RV. Don't need extra food for ants. The new one also sticks to the window, but it's a solid mount and the wind doesn't bother it. The wind blows the hummingbirds around, but the feeder is stable and to top it off, we can get really close to the birds as they feed because they cannot see us through the tinted window.
Do you know what we found out while hugging? No not that, we found out that Scout, our dog, doesn't like it and barks. This reminded me when our son Michael was a toddler, he didn't like it either and got in between us to push mommy away from me.
One day the A/C in the bedroom stopped putting out cold air. So onto the roof I go, to see if I could fix it and the good thing here is I finally got to use my multi-meter. I thought it might be a capacitor and luckily we have two A/C units so I swapped parts between them, but after all that work, it wasn't the capacitors. After some more testing, I found no power getting to the compressor which tells me it's something that can be fixed. So I went inside and looked at the inside part of the A/C. After jiggling some wires, it started working. I determined it was a Junction box that was the issue. So I ordered a new one, put it in and now all is good. Now all that needs to be done is to fix anything else that breaks. They should call RVs "FORD" (fix or repair daily).
April was also the first time we hit 100 degrees. Toasty! Well that's it for April. Come back for the May report, It will be fun...maybe.
