Americas Campground, Box Elder SD
There is not much to this campground, no out building or anything. They are planning on expanding and have the spots all setup, just need to run power it looks like. But the extended campground is set up stupidly. Two spots share the same area for electricity, water and sewage. The problem is they are all back-in spots. Which makes one RV having to run their hoses and stuff under the RV to the other side. We were lucky in the fact we had the left side spot (our utilities are on the driver side of the RV). The spots are small and it’s mainly just a parking lot. It’s ok for a day or two but wouldn’t want to vacation here. I think that was all they were planning on anyway. In our spot, it was surprisingly quiet, even though Flying J was to the west and Freeway to the south. We had a building right next to us to the west and another to the south. Probably helped block the noise.
Here is the Pros and Cons
Pros:
- The only pro I can think of is it’s right next to where we get our mail.
Cons:
- Small spots
- Terrible configuration of utilities of the spots
- No outbuildings
